Connecticut has its fair share of festivals, ranging from agricultural appreciation to classical carnival fun. But there’s one annual event that residents just can’t get enough of. The Plainville Fire Company Hot Air Balloon Festival is a three-day spectacle that’s full of magic. You’ll definitely want to mark your calendars for this high-flying event!

The Plainville Fire Company Hot Air Balloon Festival is a free family friendly event that everyone in your party is guaranteed to love.

The festival is presented by the town’s Fire Company to raise money for it’s scholarship fundraiser. One of the biggest and last remaining balloon festival in the northeast. The festival takes place at Norton Park in Plainville. Every year it is celebrated on the 4th week of August. The hot air balloons launch at 6:00am on Saturday and Sunday. Over 20 Hot Air Balloons are launched.

It’s awesome to move from booth to booth as you steal glances of the balloons filling the sky above you. Some folks bring a lawn chair and gaze up all evening while others can’t get enough of the vendors. It’s your choice!

As the sun sets, the balloons take on a romantic glow. It’s a beautiful sight that ignites your imagination. Plus there are fireworks! At 9:15 on the first night of the festival you’ll have the opportunity to see one of the most talked about fireworks shows in the state. It’s the perfect way to end your evening of balloon-themed fun.

The Plainville Fire Company Hot Air Balloon Festival is August 23 – 25 this year! It takes place at Norton Park, South Washington St, Plainville, Connecticut 06062. A free bus service will transport you from the parking area to the event space.
