Raising babies is tough. Mamas deserve to look and feel pretty. Let’s be honest some days we walk out of the house looking like a hot mess but some days we want to up our game. You can master the 5 minute face with these products and tips. It’s all about streamlining what’s in your bag for that quick on-the-go application.
1. Bigger isn’t better- I love to save money where I can by buying the bigger size just as much as the next girl, but when you are looking to ease your morning routine. Bigger isn’t better.
Mascara has a very short shelf life. To downsize your makeup bag and avoid that dreaded mascara flaking, purchase the travel or sample size mascaras instead! I love the @itcosmetics
Superhero Mascara, but especially in the sample version. Mascara should really be replaced every 2 months, so the smaller size keeps me from hoarding it. Pop it in your purse (or diaper bag) and apply when your tired eyes need a pick me up.
2. Invest in multi-purpose products! For example, I love the @narscosmetics
NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer, it’s perfect for the on-the-go mom. It provides SPF 30 sun protection, hydration and a slight veil of color. This is an especially good product if you feel like a foundation or cc cream is too heavy for everyday wear.
I also highly recommend getting an all-in-one palette that you can use as blush, bronze, shadow and highlight. I like the @charlottetilbury
glow palette. You want to invest in items that are going to do multiple things for your face!
3. Add the B! Some days are more drab than others, especially with lack of sleep. The best way to combat this is to introduce color back into the cheeks. Slap on that bronze or blush and go! One of my new faves is the @stilacosmetics
convertible color cream blushes, they are so vibrant and youthful. (And can also be applied to your lips!)
4. It’s all about that glow- make sure that you are highlighting! We are all striving for that dewy, glowing skin to shave some years off of our age. A great way to do that is by using a powder, liquid or cream highlighter/luminizer on the high points of your face (aka strobing). A great drugstore buy is the @maybelline
FaceStudio Master Strobing Stick Illuminating Highlighter because you can just roll it on. The trick is to apply it to the tops of your cheekbones and bring it down towards the apple of your cheeks right where it would meet your blush. This will really help to give you that fresh, glowy skin look.
Finally, for me personally on days when I can’t get it together – Lipstick is always the answer.
