You can always find time for a cup of coffee on the Connecticut Shoreline. Perhaps a crepe or fabulous lunch entree, too? Located in the iconic Quonset hut on Church Street, walking distance from the historic Guilford Green, Java Hut Cafe & Bistro is worthy of being its own destination.
Kym Campbell, owner of JavaHut Cafe & Bistro, previously known as Perk on Church, has gained quite a following of shoreline residents at her most longstanding local hotspot RJ Cafe & Bistro in Madison.
Kym isn’t bringing just food to the table – she is bringing community. She is constantly reinforcing their menu and values, especially when it comes to serving customers. Providing simple, unprocessed, real food with menu options ranging from organic coffee and crepes to soups, salads, there is sure to be something delicious and nutritious for everyone, including their vegan options.
The Sunny Cobb Salad, served with a sunny side egg on top, is new to their menu using only the freshest, highest quality ingredients. New menu items also include the Avocado BLT, and even a savory Sesame Chicken crepe served with organic chicken, broccoli, mushrooms, onions, spiced walnuts, Asian sesame ginger dressing and scallions.
Try the new Nitro Cold Brew coffee or just to sit back on the patio with a cappuccino. Gluten-free breads from Still Delicious in Westbrook are on hand daily, with some of their gluten-free desserts. Local and organic coffee from Shearwater Organic Coffee Roasters is served, alongside tea (both freshly made iced and hot), and soda from Foxon Park.
It’s fresh, local, and delicious.
Having started out as an idea to bring quality products along with unparallelled service onto the Connecticut Shoreline; it is slowly, but forcefully, transforming as a model business for the Campbells.
“We have a passion for coffee, a passion for food, and – most importantly – a passion for serving our customers.” says Kristopher Campbell, who will manage the Guilford restaurant location.
It will be exciting and interesting to see how this cafe and bistro will soar with the influence of Kym and her son Kristopher Campbell.
“We are excited for the opportunity to serve and focus on customers at both our locations now in Guilford and Madison. As we continue to grow, so does our mission; we thank our customers for supporting us.” Kym Campbell.
Stay tuned as Kym continues to celebrate her sucess, bringing people together through coffee and impacting the Shoreline community every day. Stop in and you’ll most likely bump into someone you know, and if not, you’ll feel welcomed anyway. As always, the Campbell’s welcome everyone to stop by for some coffee at the JavaHut.
Java Hut Cafe & Bistro is open from 7:00 AM to 4 PM, 7 days a week, and is located on 20 Church Street, Guilford Connecticut.
