Poem: Simplicity

There are days when
Life is complex
And I require some answer
To the hows and whys
That surround the mysterious forces
At work in my life.

And still there are days
When life is simple
And all I need is a heavy coat
To wrap around me,
A sturdy pair of boots,
And a bag big enough
To carry my load.

Those days when
Our suffering recedes,
The gray curtain rolls back,
And the beauty of what it is to draw
breath
Pervades.
